HOW WE EDUCATE
The most effective way to ensure long-term change in healthy eye habits is through education. This is why education is a guiding principle of the Transitions® Healthy Sight for Life Fund, and why it is an important part of what Transitions Optical offers.
Transitions Optical - maker of the #1-recommended photochromic lens worldwide, Transitions® lenses - has long been committed to raising awareness about the dangers of ultraviolet (UV) radiation to the eyes. Over time, this mission has expanded to encompass a global focus on the need for eye protection and healthy sight.
Through the Transitions Healthy Sight for Life Fund, consumer brochures and other education materials are available to increase awareness of the need for healthy sight and offer simple tips to enhance and protect vision. Eyecare industry, health and education professionals can utilize these materials at a local level to educate patients and students on the importance of healthy sight for a lifetime. Kids and adults alike can learn more about the eyes and sight by visiting Eye Didn't Know That!, a youth education program supported by Transitions Optical. Take a trivia test, learn about optical history milestones and tour the virtual lab. Eyecare professionals and teachers can also promote healthy sight in their communities and classrooms by using resources found in the Partners Center and Teachers Lounge.
Transitions Optical also offers professional education through its Transitions® Partners in Education program, including the recently introduced concept of Healthy Sight Counseling - supported by a range of initiatives that explore factors that can compromise Healthy Sight.
